A lot changes in a year. In the course of 12 months we’ve transitioned from worrying about keeping Ellis alive to worrying about him eating too many pancakes. Each phase is better than the last (so far). We have a sweet little boy who has a sense of humor and much love to give. His stuffed animals can attest to this. Few things in life exceed expectations, but seeing him see the world has been more fun than I thought possible 52 weeks ago. I’ll tell you that I miss him as a new little baby, but in reality I only miss the idea of it. This memory is better served as context, a starting point, for what Ellis has become and what he will become. We feel so lucky. Also, thanks to Brooke for contributing a picture to this post. You can probably guess which one.
